The short version
Use MySierraBox honestly. Connect only with businesses you genuinely want to hear from. Do not misuse the service. Businesses must only send messages their customers have agreed to receive.
1. Accepting these terms
By downloading and using the MySierraBox app, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
These terms are between you and Apphive, operator of MySierraBox, located at 14B Wilkinson Road, Freetown, Sierra Leone.
2. What MySierraBox is
MySierraBox is a private messaging inbox. It allows verified Sierra Leone businesses to send messages — such as transaction alerts, one-time codes, receipts, and notices — directly to customers who have chosen to connect with them.
MySierraBox is not a general messaging service like WhatsApp. You cannot send messages to businesses or other users through the app.
3. Who can use MySierraBox
MySierraBox is available to anyone in Sierra Leone who:
- Is at least 13 years old
- Has an Android smartphone
- Uses the service honestly and for its intended purpose
4. Your responsibilities as a user
When you use MySierraBox, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when connecting with businesses
- Keep your MSB Code safe — it is like a password that gives access to your connections
- Connect only with businesses that you genuinely want to receive messages from
- Not share your account or device ID with others to impersonate them
- Not attempt to hack, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service
You are responsible for any activity that happens through your MySierraBox account.
5. Businesses on MySierraBox
All businesses on MySierraBox are vetted and approved by Apphive before they can send messages. Businesses agree to:
- Only send messages that are relevant to the connection they have with the customer
- Not send spam, misleading information, or unsolicited promotions
- Respect a customer's decision to disconnect or pause their channel
- Keep customer information confidential and not use it for unrelated purposes

6. Things you must not do
You must not use MySierraBox to:
- Impersonate another person or business
- Submit false information to businesses
- Attempt to access another person's account or messages
- Do anything that is illegal under the laws of Sierra Leone
- Interfere with the operation of the service or its servers
We may suspend or permanently close your account if you break these rules.
7. Our service — what we promise and what we do not
We work hard to keep MySierraBox running reliably. However:
- We cannot guarantee the service will always be available — there may be occasional downtime for maintenance or unexpected technical problems
- We are not responsible for the content of messages sent by businesses — those businesses are responsible for what they send
- We are not responsible for any loss or damage caused by a business misusing your connection information
The messages you receive through MySierraBox are sent by third-party businesses. Apphive vets these businesses but does not write or review every individual message.
8. Your data
How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. By using MySierraBox, you also agree to that policy.
9. Disconnecting and deleting your account
You can disconnect from any business at any time from within the app. This immediately stops that business from sending you messages.
To delete your account entirely, contact us at stephen@apphivesl.com. We will delete your account within 30 days.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will notify you through the app. Continuing to use MySierraBox after a change means you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Sierra Leone. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Sierra Leone.
